BACKGROUND

 Ann Arbor proposes to expand the primary runway at Ann Arbor Municipal Airport almost three football fields closer to Lohr Road, extending the current 3,505 runway to 4,225 feet. Last fall, the FAA and Michigan Dpt of Transportation approved a deeply flawed Environmental Assessment that sets the stage for the city to begin contracting preliminary planning and design work on an expanded runway.
